There was Stalker taking a break from the woes of and worries of the mushroom industry in Ireland, lounging around and relaxing in the cosy surrounds of Aldeburgh in Suffolk in January. A genteel place it is too, no better spot for getting away from it all – and the sea there's lovely warm all year round, thanks to the nearby nuclear power station. Stalker nearly choked on a rasher at breakfast though whilst reading one of the local newspapers – the East Anglian Daily Times, styled as the morning newspaper for Suffolk and Essex. The headline was "Yuck – it's a brush-room" and the story unfolded from there: AN office manager got more than he bargained for when he cut into a mushroom and found a piece of brush smelling of disinfectant.
Stalker noting Mr Davis's job at an agricultural chemical firm, wondered about whether he might have recognised the "perfume" of the disinfectant in question, and whether he could have told us if it was either of the leading brands used in the Irish Industry. It's good though to read that Walsh Family Foods have responded promptly and positively to the complainant and it is hoped that the outcome will be satisfactory to all.
