Tales of a compost lorry barrelling through the narrow streets of Armagh city are not new.
Nor is the fact that some drivers of said lorries have had mobile phones apparently welded to their heads.
One industry observer met such a compost truck recently, with the distracted driver taking wide berths at every corner, while chatting away endlessly on the mobile.
The new law about using mobiles at the wheel had obviously not impinged on the driver's consciousness.
This kind of driving is not only dangerous; it will soon result in penalty points and fines.
Some road users believe the penalties cannot come soon enough!
Hopefully a bit of 'cop on' will emerge before there is an avoidable tragedy.
