With the restructuring that inevitably results from merging companies there are always jobs lost somewhere in the mix.

With the Monaghan, Carbury marriage there has been jobs fallout in different parts of the organisations.

Fifty jobs lost at Foxfield Mushrooms in Kilnaleck.

Workers at Foxfield  in Kilnaleck were told at the start of August that its mushroom houses and packing facilities were to close.

Seems the reasoning behind the move was because the packhouse facilities in Kilnaleck are duplicated elsewhere in the new company structure.

No doubt the new organisation will be trimming away in many areas to minimize inefficiencies – an unfortunately that will result in job losses.

Such is the way with modern mergers.
