MIANI has discovered from the Department that over half the growers in the Province are NOT in a Producer Organisation.
These growers are missing out on an EU rebate that could be worth up to 2p/lb. Up until now many independent growers have been unable to join a PO as their mushrooms went straight to GB distributors, however MIANI has discussed these growers with CMP and believe they can be accommodated.
