The All Ireland Mushroom Conference and Trade Show will be held in Monaghan at the Hillgrove Hotel on Thursday, October 16th 2003. This is a very important event in the mushroom growers calendar. It is particularly important this year that all growers make an effort to attend, as it will cover many topics of vital importance.
The trade stands offer growers an opportunity to view the most up to date technology and facilities for the industry. The organisers (a committee of grower groups, Teagasc, DARD and the trade) plan to give more focus to the workshop events that were such a success in 2001. While final details are yet to be decided, there will be a session on costs and comparisons between growing enterprises and another on labour for mushroom units.
There will be two presentation sessions covering technical topics for growing and the future direction and trends in the industry. The latter should promote vigorous debate on the day.
As usual, there will be a comprehensive trade exhibit open all day and posters describing current research and development on view.
