A new designation has sprouted in professional golfing circles that may well appeal to Armagh GAA team followers.
Previous to the PGA European Tour French Open Championship this year Malcolm Mackenzie was the champion. His mates were calling him the defending mushroom, which he said it took him a while to get.
So this year in the All Ireland stakes, Armagh are the defending champignons – quite a nice moniker Stalker reckons, for a county steeped in compost and mushroom lore.
Facing the Dubs this Saturday at HQ, the defending mushrooms will have their work cut out for them if they don't want to end up on the championship compost heap.
