It was interesting to note that the monthly global mean surface air temperature remained more than 1.5C above the pre-industrial level in 19 of the past 20 months.
Despite the supposed cooling of the La Nina weather phenomenon in the Pacific which was meant to kick in this year - the February temperatures remained above the 1.5C.
The cooling cycle influence has been weak so far, according to observations from the EU’s Earth observation agency Copernicus.
