A Westmeath mushroom growing operation has never seen damage before like that which Storm Éowyn caused.
Reilly Mushrooms lost around 12% of its stock following the impact of the storm on Friday 24th of January.
Fifty local people gathered three silage trailers full of plastic and debris, all of which is now unusable, from covers and equipment that had blown away.
Owner of the mushroom farm, Gerry Reilly says they are hoping to start repairs within the next month.
Mushroom grower Joe Reilly said they had two crops worth €70 thousand ruined after the storm ripped through his unit.
The storm had wind speeds that exceeded all records in Ireland.
"We're almost 40 years in business and we've never experienced anything like this," he said, standing in the middle of what was one of his growing tunnels, located just outside Athlone.
