Latest reports on the subject of robotic picking show that the ability of the machines to pick mushrooms properly is accelerating. At the 45th AMGA mushroom conference down under in New Zealand, the automation segment reported on advances in the field.
Sean O Connor, CEO of 4AG Robotics, indicated that their version 4 machine has achieved a pick rate of 40 kg /hour, working 24 hours, seven days a week.
The new version is still in trials on a Canadian farm, but the advance form the last version which was picking at 25kg per hour is quite dramatic.
The CEO reckoned that A.I. will further improve their machines' efforts dramatically.
