Well it finally happened - a dedicated mushroom festival on home ground.
The first Monaghan Town Mushroom Festival took place on Saturday 28th of September. There was a full array of mushroom activities happening, from foraging tips to culinary workshops, to a screening of Fantastic Fungi.
Supported by the GEPC, this first festival is hopefully only the beginning of a mushroom festival scene on the island of Ireland.
