Mushroom Material, an Auckland based startup, has garnered $8.5million in seed funding for it's operation. It is aiming to replace styrofoam with pelletised fungi packaging. “Transforming agricultural waste into eco-friendly packaging, we’ve harnessed the power of mycelium—the root structure of mushrooms—to create a sustainable alternative to polystyrene (Styrofoam)”.
