POUND STRONGER
The euro fell to its lowest level against the pound in nearly two years as traders contrast political stability in Britain and France.The boost to the pound came after better than expected UK growth figures were released in mid-July. They showed that the UK economy in the past three months grew at the fastest pace in more than two years. It expanded by 0.9pc in the three months to May. The pound was trading at just over €1.19 - the euro was trading at bang on 84 pence.
