The headline inflation rate in the Irish economy, as calculated on a monthly basis, fell to 3.4 percent in February, down from 4.1 percent in January.
The CSO calculates that the headline inflation rate has now fallen for three consecutive months. So there is some easing in price pressures across the general economy. However as the headline inflation rate drops, prices are still going up - one supposes things are normalising somewhat.
Funnily enough the rate of inflation for the UK was exactly the same this month at 3.4 percent. What are the chances of that happening, as Harry Hill might say.
