Irish grocery inflation continues to fall, with the latest figures showing that in January it fell to 5.9%.
That compares to a figure of 7.1 percent in December. While headline inflation rates were also down in the Irish economy in January - to 2.7 percent down from 3.2 percent the previous month - experts would caution that the spectre of rampant inflation is not yet beaten.
One wouldn’t be confident of central bankers lowering interest rates just yet.
