The average global temperature has for the first time breached the critical benchmark of 1.5C above pre-industrial levels over a 12 month period - that’s according to the Copernicus Climate Change Service.
We have arrived in the future quicker than expected, it would appear.
Countries are facing more frequent extreme weather events on the back of climate change - Ireland and the UK both seem to be experiencing more storms, rain and flooding damage.
Watching the weather has never felt as fraught, as climate change brings new patterns to systems and nature around us. We live in interesting times - that is for sure.
