Stalker was intrigued to learn that King Charles III succeeded to the throne whilst on a mushroom foraging trip.
The new King succeeded to the throne at the wheel of his car after the trip to forage for mushrooms near the Balmoral estate, a new book has revealed.
During his return to Balmoral, he pulled over to take a phone call in which he was addressed as “Your Majesty” for the first time. Minutes beforehand, he had been picking mushrooms as he attempted to “clear his head” in the fresh air following a final visit to his mother’s bedside.
The details are published in Robert Hardman’s book, Charles III: New King. New Court. The Inside Story, which is out now for those who like their royal stories.
Who knew mushroom foraging was such a regal pastime - just ask Charluccio?
