TD Matt Carthy led a delegation from the Irish parliament’s Oireachtas Agriculture Committee to Cornacrieve Mushrooms in Emyvale last month. Members saw for themselves the new methods farmers are trying out, to get around the peat supply issue.
"That innovation and imagination must be matched by government," Mr Carthy stated.
It’s good to know that the folk from the Oireachtas are getting out an about to see how policies are affecting growers in the real world environment.
