Subsequent temperatures in the UK dipped to minus 12C, with minus 6C in Northern Ireland. Icy, foggy conditions abounded throughout the UK and Ireland, with snow more general in England.
November turned out to be warmer and sunnier than average according to Met Éireann data for Ireland. Even though rain dominated for much of the month.
As we head into Christmas milder, windier and wetter conditions apply.
