Custom Compost will be investing €750,000 into new technology for environmental improvement at its facility outside Gorey.
This decision is as a result of advice from an expert odour report which recommended this as the best practice for the environment.
It is also in line with international best standards. The technology involved is a two-step process which consists of chemical processing and passing air through a wood and bark bio-filter. The company expects to assemble and deliver the project over the months of November and December 2023.
Testing, powering up and operation is set to happen in January 2024.
