Inflation in Ireland slowed to 3.6 percent in October according to CSO stats.
In Ireland grocery price inflation is slowing, although prices are still rising. The cost of groceries climbed by 10.5 percent in the three months to the beginning of October when compared to the same period last year.
In the UK food price inflation is continuing to fall, and the Bank of England governor Andrew Bailey on a trip to Belfast has said that headline inflation will fall below 5 percent this month.
All the different metrics on inflation can be quite confusing - but it will be interesting to see the graphs that are generated at the end of this year to fully appreciate the rate rises and falls throughout the period.
