BIG HITTERS

Once again the Irish Times has produced a Top 1000 Irish companies brochure - looking at “who’s hitting the targets”.

It’s a glossy exercise and contained within it are two mushroom companies.

Placing at position 291 is Monaghan Mushrooms  with a turnover of €300m and an impressive employee tally of 3000.

Then, placing at position ranking 582, is Walsh Mushrooms with a turnover given as €80 million and an employee tally of  380.

Stalker combed through the companies list for any other mushroom industry connections but came up empty handed.
