The price of used cars shot up during the pandemic due to the supply crunch on new cars.
The economics of car buying has been upended by the pandemic, with the latest stats showing that the price of used cars has risen more than 79 percent in Ireland.
There has also been a marked decline in the importation of cars from the UK, down to 28 percent from 93 percent in 2020. Watch out for Japanese imports on the roads with their squarer licence plates.
The car-buying market has obviously changed dramatically since the pandemic and has been altered too by Brexit.
Ireland does seem to be in a new era as regards car buying and pricing.
Meanwhile new car registrations In Ireland are up 50 percent on the same time last year.
