It seems as though factional fighting has broken out on online social media channels - the cause of the fighting - what constitutes a “full English” fry.
We’ve been here before and Stalker won’t hash over it again, but it seems like a contentious subject, with no real definitive answers.
Hash browns are the most recent object of contention - but Stalker notes that tomatoes, mushrooms and sausages all come in for some fire.
The cost of the fry ingredients also gets mentioned a lot. Bloomberg Businessweek reported in March that the price of a basket of English breakfast items had soared past £35.
Although one commentator noted that a time-price analysis of affordability (the cost of the breakfast ingredients compared to average hourly wages since the 1980s) shows the full English breakfast tradition (substitute Ulster, Irish, Scottish or Welsh, as you please) has never been cheaper.
That’s kind of hard to believe in the current inflationary spell.
