As we go to press the price of a barrel of Brent crude on the open market stands at $93.70 which is not far off where it was last month. The prospect of a cold winter has slightly stoked energy fears in the UK.
The Met office has said that winter could be colder than usual in Britain this year. Experts have said the threat of low temperatures and weak winds and supply constraints had increased the risk of price surges that could force industrial shutdowns.
But as we haven’t even had a cold snap as yet by mid November, the seasonal mildness could give hope that this winter won’t be too bad.
However one would be a mug to bet on the weather not getting colder!
