Looking back at the October 2002 issue, Stalker is reminded of the diversity and vivacity of the mushroom folk throughout Ireland back then; MIANI was on the go; Donegal was a mushrooming hub; Armagh were winning the All Ireland for the first time; there were Fancom training days; Sylvan winners ( all Ireland tickets); there was lots happening.
Richard Gaze was reviewing the axis picking machine, which was also seeing action on Shaun McGonagles’s unit in Redcastle Co. Donegal. Sylvan were to host a ‘Mushroom Study Tour’ in Navan.
And Amycel’s Martin Duffy was writing on the Importance of Analysing Your Business - the first line read; “The mushroom industry over the last period has become more and more difficult to succeed in.”
