The fungus Aspergillus niger, more commonly known as black mould, is heading back up into space as scientists test the mould’s ability to exist in extreme environments.
The mould will be on the Artemis test flight -already delayed twice - the new rocket that is heading to the Moon.
The fungus has previously been found living happily on the International Space Station (ISS) apparently oblivious to lack of gravity or the rigours of space radiation.
Lift-off has been postponed again due to inclement weather conditions - here's hoping the Artemis rocket gets the old countdown soon...10....9....8...
As things stand the American space agency NASA is to pull its Artemis-I Moon rocket off the launch pad in Florida because of an approaching hurricane.
