This summer June, July and August were warm everywhere according to Met Eireann. Ireland has apparently had its fifth successive season where temperatures have been above the average everywhere.
Rainfall was below average everywhere, it was sunny at all weather stations and the wind was below average everywhere.
Certainly there was a North / South split in how hot and dry it was.
The Northwest especially managed to escape the arid conditions that applied throughout the country.
With some peculiar plumps of rainfall as we entered the autumnal phase in September, it seems the consensus in climate circles is that climate change is very much affecting our weather patterns, and that impact is set to increase.
