Stalker notes that Lidl and Waitrose have said that they would start selling “wonky” fruit and vegetables stunted by drought, in order to support struggling farmers.
Waitrose said it would relax size and shape guidelines for potatoes, carrots, strawberries, apples, pears and peppers as part of its “ A Little Less Than Perfect” range, and use misshapen produce in its own-brand soups, ready meals and smoothies.
