MUSHROOM MAGIC

Stalker was impressed by a photograph that appeared in the national press this month.

It depicted a foraging sculptor Ben Russell putting the finishing touches to a cascade of oyster mushroom trumpets carved from alabaster.

The sculptor works out of his studio in Dorset.

The 16 inch work took three weeks to complete after Mr Russell saw the fragile fungus growing in deciduous woodlands.
