The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office in Ireland (CSO) show that prices on average rose by 0.4 percent month on in July, down from the 1.3 per cent recorded in June.
Headline inflation in the Irish Economy was at a near 40 year high of 9.1 percent.
Figures for the agricultural sector indicated huge spikes in energy costs , fertiliser and feed prices. Data showed that agricultural input prices across the sector rose by over 40 percent in the year to June.
This included a 145 percent hike in fertiliser prices, a 60 percent rise in energy prices and a 32 percent rise in feed prices.
