The RAC in the UK reported that the average price of petrol on forecourts in the country set new records every day in the past month.
Simon Willams the RAC’s fuel spokesman said: “New records in the average price of petrol have been set every day for the past month with a litre rising 21p, which has added more than £11 to the cost of a tank.
In Ireland meanwhile some media reports point to €2.50 a litre before too long.
The pressure at pumps keep mounting and respite from the price push is not easy to envisage.
