The rise and rise of psilocybin as the newest best compound for treating depression is everywhere in the press these days.
The active compound in “ magic mushrooms” apparently increases the connectivity for up to three weeks in the brains of depressed people, preventing them from getting stuck in a rut of negative thoughts according to a study by researchers at Imperial College London.
It really does sound as if the scientific researchers have hit the mother-lode in their research using the compound to treat both profoundly depressed patients and even mildly depressed patients.
Here’s hoping the scientists develop treatments that really work from their research.
