Stalker is always on the lookout for new words, words that can be deployed by you, dear reader, to enhance life and elucidate heretofore unrecognised areas of interest.
German as a language is well known for producing some great words, the likes of schadenfreude or welschmerz that sum up ideas and feelings in one tidy package. Here’s another from German - Verschlimmbessrung which conveys the idea of an improvement that makes things worse.
Great word.
It sounds a bit like the Hutbers law, coined by economist Patrick Hutber - “Improvement means deterioration.” That was a new one on Stalker too.
