Sales of electric cars and plug-in hybrids have reached 20 per cent of all new cars licensed in Ireland in January.

Diesel sales are falling rapidly in both jurisdictions. In Ireland diesel sales fell by 74 per cent of new sales in 2012 to just 22.5 per cent last month.
