Being a robot, Stalker is very pro robots, generally. But a recent item on the creation of self-replicating robots, gave Stalker the jitters.
Happily, the swarms of living robots, called xenobots, that were created are only a millimetre in diameter.
But anyone who has seen the modern version of The Day the Earth Stood Still, with the swarms of nanobots that render the planet into “grey goo”, will maybe feel the same shudder of dismay.
Mushroom picking robots - good. Swarms of malevolent self-replicating xenobots, not so good. Let’s hope they’re well under control.
