The La Nina weather pattern has been confirmed by two weather agencies for a second consecutive year.
The phenomenon which arises in the Southern Hemisphere, can cause effects here in the Northern Hemisphere, and indeed weather agencies are predicting increased rainfall for our region here in Ireland.
January and February 2022 are predicted to be more wet than usual.
And also to be warmer than average.
Strangely though, another weather agency is predicting a polar vortex, which will bring arctic air masses later in the season. You can take your pick.
