New research has shown that birds play a critical role in foraging for truffles and spreading them across forest floors.
A study conducted by American researchers found that two common ground-dwelling bird species from Patagonia seek out the fruitful fungi to eat and spread the truffle spores through their droppings.
So we can thank the birds, and other animals it seems, for the delicacies of the truffle world!
