Back in November 2011 Stalker was noting the details of the All Ireland Mushroom Conference from the month before.
“All the usual suspects were on hand at the All Ireland Mushroom Conference last month in Monaghan.
Over 150 growers, scientists and suppliers from all 32 counties of Ireland and further afield, were in attendance.
The conference talks were all well attended too. Stalker also noticed the sense of interest mounting over the visit on the Friday to the new Monaghan Mushrooms facility at Tyholland.
Everyone was talking about the farm walk visits to the most modern mushroom “facility in Europe”.
Also North’s Agriculture minister Michelle O’Neill was plugging the agri-food sector as she attended a meeting of the Executive Sub-Committee on the Economy.
At the meeting the Minister outlined a number of key points on how the agri food sector can make a contribution to rebalancing the economy, delivering jobs and promoting prosperity.
