The world’s largest vertical farm is to be built in Gloucestershire England in the next few years.
Already a large v-farm is operational in Scunthorpe run by Jones Food Company (JFC), who predict that vertical farming is the future of food production.
Vertical farming is a global movement, revolutionising the way the world grows produce - it is the future, said James Loyd Jones, owner of JFC. “Building the world’s biggest vertical farm puts the UK at the vanguard of this global movement - we’re leading the revolution.”
Many mushroom farmers will be scratching their heads wondering why this is news, as the vertical method is a standard in the mushroom growing world!
V-farms in shipping containers are also being developed, fully solar powered and soil free. The future of farming indeed.
