So the record beating heat recorded in Northern Ireland during the recent heatwave in July happened in the town of Castlederg in Co. Tyrone.
It seems that the instruments in Armagh that recorded a slightly higher value were not adjudged to be accurate enough.
Castlederg now holds the record for both the highest temperature ever recorded in the North and the lowest temperature ever recorded there too in 2010.
‘Tis a town of extremes and very accurate temperature taking equipment to boot!
