Stalker notes that Tesla boss Elon Musk has told the world that he’s creating a humanoid robot to help eliminate “dangerous, repetitive and boring tasks.”
The new Tesla bot is code-named Optimus - a nod to the Transformer Optimus Prime - thankfully a goodie robot! Stalker notes that Musk says his new bot will be slow enough and weak enough so that humans can outrun it and overpower it - just in case!
Perhaps a future mushroom farm will be “peopled” with many Optimuses going happily about their work, packing punnets 24/7 - a sad day for the mushroom people perhaps.
Currently at Ocado the internet grocer, robots outnumber humans at it's latest warehouses, and the numbers are only going in one direction.
Robotics companies are apparently desperate to hire data scientists to analyse the huge quantities of information that machines produce.
