In the UK the National Food Strategy was unveiled in the middle of July and the highlighting of foods that are deemed bad for us was front and centre, sugar and salt and fatty foods were the main villains.
One of the ways that was mentioned to help improve one’s salty intake was to use the power of Umami rich foods, which of course brought mushrooms to the fore. Using mushrooms, seasoned with herbs and lemon and such, was promoted as one way to reduce salt intake.
Stalker of course loves to use salt and soy sauce (which is salty) and brown sugar to oomph the mushrooms in the frying pan ( in butter of course). So maybe not so good or compliant with the National food Strategy ideals - whoops. Into the sin bin Stalker goes.
