New car sales were on the rise in Ireland in the month of June, but they were still lagging well behind pre-pandemic levels.
Used cars showed a decline with 2,098 fewer registered than in June 2019. The Brexit effect of a double vat whammy on used cars coming from the UK is behind falling numbers there.
Meanwhile in the UK used car values continue to shoot up, with an 11 per cent increase in used car prices across the board.
