As lockdown restrictions have eased and the weather gets warmer, foraging guided tours are booming in the UK and Ireland.
James Wood of Totally Wild UK based in Macclesfield, manages 12 foragers who give guided tours and supply markets across the country. Visits to their website have doubled from 8,000 a month to 16,000 a month. Last year they had 4,000 people booked for tours, this year the number is 6,000.
Susanne Masters at the Association of Foragers, said online foraging tuition during the lockdown resulted in “higher than expected demand.”
