Some heartening news from the world of science on the risks of being infected by coronavirus by touching surfaces. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the US has updated it's guidelines after a study showed that the risk is less than 1 in 10,000.
It doesn’t mean we can drop our guard against infection from surface contamination, but it does mean that proper disinfection controls will work well against any such contamination.
Dr Rochelle Walensky , director of the CDC, Said at the White House briefing ;” Disinfection is only recommended in indoor settings - schools and homes - where there has been a suspected or confirmed case of Covid -19 within the past 24 hours.”
Strict hygiene measures already in place in farm and industry settings here are still de rigueur.
