GROCERY SPEND
February has seen another record leap in grocery sales in Ireland with sales climbing by just under 18 per cent in the four weeks of last month. Since the start of the pandemic over a year ago, supermarket spending has increased by €2 billion in Ireland according to figures produced by Kantar. The same surge is evident in the UK retail sector also. One can see why sales of mushrooms have rocketed by 20 percent over the previous year.
