The pound sterling has been slowly gaining ground against the euro since the beginning of the year. The rate as we go to press is currently at above €1.15 per £1.
Previously some had predicted a rapid bounce up to the €1.20 mark, but with the pandemic, and Brexit teething problems the brakes seem to be on any rapid readjustments.
As the rate creeps up though, Irish mushroom growers will be breathing a sigh of relief as the currencies recalibrate slightly more in their favour.
