Stalker noted some diet gurus promoting their new year plans in the newspapers and glossy supplements over the holidays. It was good to see that mushrooms were appearing in many food plans making up a large portion of non-starchy vegetables.
In the 50:30:20 plan one is to make 50 percent of your plate with such vege as broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, spinach , mushrooms, sprouts and asparagus and the like.
One of the other eye-catching dietary rules was to eat food that is real food, i.e. not processed - mushrooms score well on that count too!
