With a Brexit deal now expected to be announced on Christmas Eve, notwithstanding any last minute hitches, there's something slightly fishy about the timing.
Nevertheless, the deal then has to be ratified by Parliament in the UK , perhaps next week, and then by the EU parliament, perhaps after the New Year.
Expect much wailing and gnashing of teeth in Westminister from hardline Brexiteer MPs. This could signal the end of the beginning of the wrangling over Brexit....
