As we go to the presses the future of the Brexit deal, or lack thereof, hangs in the balance. The Irish Taoiseach has stated that he believes there is a 50/50 chance of a deal. The threat to disapply the Northern Ireland protocol has been lifted as the UK and EU agree Brexit deal on goods crossing Irish sea. Stalker hopes that whatever the outcome of these last ditch talks to secure a deal, that come the new year there’ll be less sign of brexit on the radar. However, come what may, that is probably a forlorn hope. With congestion at the ports in Ireland and the UK, millions more customs documents required, and shortages of customs staff and infrastructure, the end of frictionless trade between these islands is now here.
